Planning the perfect trip for you to the Holy Lands!

ABOUT

FORGOTTENLANDS

Our maiden journey to Jerusalem, back in 2014, began with a group of 36 individuals. From all ages and professions – it was a coming together of a broad spectrum of lifestyles and passions. There was but one common purpose that tethered us: Masjid Al-Aqsa, one of the holiest and most sacred sites in Islamic history.

OUR OBJECTIVE HAS ALWAYS BEEN TO MAKE THE JOURNEY

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WILL I GET THROUGH IMMIGRATION?

Immigration delays at Tel Aviv airport are common. Entry into Israel is determined solely by Israeli immigration authorities, and we have no influence over who is allowed entry.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO GET THROUGH IMMIGRATION?

Delays at Tel Aviv airport can often last several hours. Be prepared by bringing any necessary medications, food, and drinks, as there are no food options available before clearing immigration. After passing through immigration, you will find many cafes.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET FROM TEL AVIV AIRPORT TO JERUSALEM (OLD CITY)?

We will travel to Jerusalem by private coach, with an estimated journey time of approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes.

WILL MY PASSPORT BE STAMPED ON ARRIVAL AT TEL AVIV AIRPORT?

Your passport will not be stamped by Israeli authorities. Instead, you will receive a free entry permit upon arrival. It is advisable to staple this permit into your passport, as you will need it for travel within Israel and Palestine.

TRAVELLING WITHIN THE OLD CITY?

This is a walking tour. The Old City is characterized by steep slopes and cobbled streets, and there are no taxis available to take you from the Holy Land Hotel to Masjid Al Aqsa. Therefore, please ensure you wear sensible and appropriate footwear.

CAN I USE MY WHEELCHAIR IN THE OLD CITY?

Using a wheelchair in the Old City can be challenging due to the cobbled streets. However, many people successfully navigate the area with their wheelchairs.

WILL THE HOTEL PROVIDE WHEELCHAIRS IF NEEDED?

The hotel can provide wheelchairs if available, but it is recommended to bring your own as the quality may not match those in the UK. If you need ForgottenLands to arrange a wheelchair, you MUST notify us at the time of booking so we can make the necessary arrangements.

WHICH HOTEL DO YOU STAY IN?

We will be staying at the Holy Land Hotel, a newly renovated establishment with an excellent location just outside the Old City. It is within walking distance of both the Church of the Holy Sepulcher and Al-Aqsa.

HOW FAR IS MASJID AL AQSA FROM THE HOTEL?

The walk from the hotel to Masjid AL Aqsa is around 7-8 minutes.

DO YOU TAKE GROUPS FROM JERUSALEM TO THE WEST BANK?

On our main day of ziyaarats, all tour groups will be transported by coach to the West Bank. During this journey, it is imperative to keep your passport and travel permit with you at all times. You will encounter checkpoints where security personnel will frequently inspect this documentation.

MONEY EXCHANGE

The local currency is Shekels. We recommend bringing a minimum of £100 worth of shekels from the UK, and upon arrival, we can guide you to reputable local money exchangers in Jerusalem.

WEATHER

The weather between November -March is very cold and wet. The weather between April-October is warm and typical summer temperatures reach 30 degrees centigrade (plus).

CAN CHILDREN TRAVEL?

We have welcomed many children on our tours to Jerusalem, with some as young as 6 months old joining us on their journey with Forgotten Lands.
